Karen Cas-Alinas, M.D. is the proud owner and creator of PLE QBank, a leading resource for medical board exam preparation. With a passion for medical education and digital technology, as well as a keen sense for digital marketing, Karen has successfully established and promoted the PLE QBank brand, making it a trusted name among medical professionals and students.
Before her entrepreneurial journey, Karen was a medical doctor in the Philippines, where she honed her expertise in healthcare. Her medical background has been instrumental in developing high-quality, comprehensive content for PLE QBank, ensuring it meets the rigorous standards expected by users.
At the age of 34, Karen is a self-made entrepreneur who has built three small businesses from the ground up. Her drive and innovative mindset have enabled her to thrive in various industries, showcasing her versatility and business acumen.
Currently based in Downtown Toronto, the home to the largest technology hub in Canada, Karen lives with her supportive husband and two daughters. Her family is her inspiration and motivation, driving her to achieve greater heights in her professional and personal life.

Dr. Alexis Delos Santos
Gross Anatomy Question Designer
Dr. Alexis Delos Santos is currently a CTMR fellow of cardiovascular radiology at the Philippine Heart Center. She was the previous chief resident of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology at Rizal Medical Center (Pasig, MM). Her abstract entitled, "Prognostic value of Computed Tomography Psoas muscle size in predicting major adverse cardiovascular events in the elderly: A Meta-analysis" was accepted at the 29th Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hypertension in Kyoto, Japan, and at the International Conference on Integrated Medical Imaging in Cardiovascular Diseases in Vienna, Austria. The Journal of Hypertension has also published the abstract.
Dr. Delos Santos came from a family of doctors, and she also desired to be one. She graduated Bachelor of Science, Major in Biology from the University of the Philippines (Diliman, Quezon City) and went straight ahead to the University of Santo Tomas (Manila), where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree. She pursued post-graduate internship training in the Department of Health - Philippine Centers for Specialized Healthcare.

Dr. Shirley Santiago-Baydo
Pharmacology Instructor
Dr. Shirley Santiago is a highly skilled and accomplished professional in the field of aesthetic dermatology. With a Master of Business Administration from Miriam College and certification in Aesthetic Dermatology from the Philippine Associations of Primary Skin Health Physicians, Inc., she brings a unique blend of medical and business expertise to her work.
In addition to her formal education, Dr. Santiago completed a post-graduate internship at the Rizal Medical Center and was awarded the prestigious US Alumni Scholar by Far Eastern University-Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation. These experiences helped to further hone her skills and expand her knowledge in medicine.
Today, Dr. Santiago is the proud owner and manager of DermAesthetics and Laser Center in Cavite, where she applies her expertise to provide top-quality aesthetic dermatology services to her clients. Her dedication and passion for her work are evident in the outstanding results she consistently delivers, and she remains committed to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.

Dr. Merridette Sales
Internal Medicine Question Designer
Dr. Merridette Sales is a Philippine College of Physicians Fellow and a good-standing member of the Philippine Medical Association and Quezon City Medical Society. She is also a proud member of the Philippine Association of Nutrition and the Philippine Society of Nutritionist Dietitians.
She currently works as an Internal Medicine Junior Consultant in multiple medical centers, including Global Biotech and Healthcare Hemodialysis Center and Rizal Dialysis and Wellness Center.
She spent a year moonlighting before pursuing her residency training at Dr. Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center (Mandaluyong City). She outstandingly carried positions such as Chief Resident of the Department of Medicine, Research Coordinator in the Critical Care Complex Committee, and Research Coordinator in the Rapid Response Team and Brain Attack Team.
Dr. Sales has a love for teaching, which can be traced back to when she was an instructor at the University of the Philippines (Diliman, Quezon City), facilitating courses on the Principles of Nutrition and Community Development for four-year levels.

Dr. Jan-Michael Villanueva
Physiology Instructor
Dr. Jan-Michael Villanueva is a practicing physician and a certified AHA & HSI instructor for BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Before graduating Doctor of Medicine from the University of Northern Philippines - College of Medicine (Vigan, Ilocos Sur), he worked as an emergency department nurse for four years and EMT for five years.
When he isn't busy with his radiology residency training, he enjoys playing video games to relieve stress. Also, you can find him annoying his wife and daughter most of the time.

Dr. Nicole Soria
Pediatrics Instructor
Dr. Nicole Soria has finished her pediatrics residency training at Rizal Medical Center (Pasig, MM). The decision to take this specialty started when she got into Far Eastern University Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (Quezon City, MM), wherein she received a Doctor of Medicine degree after 4 years of dedication and perseverance. She was known to be one of the best students in her undergraduate program at Far Eastern University (Manila). She was granted a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree with Latin Honors.

Dr. Miguel Francisco Cajipe
Microbiology Instructor
Miguel Francisco Cajipe, MD, RMT, DPSP-CP, is a Diplomate in Clinical Pathology conferred by the Philippine Society of Pathologists. He is the Laboratory Chairman of Southern Crest Medical and Diagnostic Center in Amadeo, Cavite.
Dr. Cajipe is the type of person who get a thrill out of knowledge sharing, which for sure is enjoyed by his students at the Department of Medical Technology in the University of Santo Tomas - his alma mater for undergraduate study. He completed Doctor of Medicine at FEU-NRMF and finished residency training at the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Department of Quezon City General Hospital.
When he is not busy teaching and writing pathology reports, he plays the bass guitar and collects Transformer line of toys.
